Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Accessibility is part of why this lab exists, so it matters that the site itself is accessible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We treat accessibility as ongoing work — we test, we find things, and we fix them — rather than a one-time box to tick. We haven’t commissioned a formal third-party audit, so we describe this as what we aim for and actively maintain.

What we’ve done

• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and a logical heading structure.
• Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
• Colour contrast checked against the AA threshold.
• A responsive layout that works down to small phone screens without horizontal scrolling.
• Respect for your “reduce motion” setting — non-essential animation is dialled back.
• Meaningful text alternatives for images, and labelled forms and controls.
• A persistent crisis-support link, available on every page.

Known limitations

We’re honest about where we’re still working:

• Some services we rely on are outside our direct control — training on LearnWorlds and our newsletter on Substack each manage their own accessibility.
• Older or downloadable documents may not all meet the same standard yet; we’re improving them over time.

We’d much rather hear about a problem than have you struggle silently.
